Chaplain of Pastoral Care
The Rev Cathy McKinney
Prior to seminary, Reverend Cathy served as a volunteer chaplain at Church Home & Hospital in Baltimore, which provided opportunities for education in pastoral care and hospice training. Other chaplaincies have included a retirement community, an inner-city hospital, and SpiriTrust Lutheran in Gettysburg. For the first half of her parish ministry, Rev Cathy served as an interim priest. Her last church - where she and Dan served for 8 years - included community ministry with a food pantry and a chance to work closely with families and the elderly. In all of her priestly calls, healing ministry has taken center stage and the same is true at Prince of Peace. Rev Cathy reminds us that healing happens when Christ is invited in and Christians share his love with one another, for it is in that sacred space where God’s work is done.

Organist & Director of Music
Cathy Elkiss
Cathy returned to Prince of Peace Episcopal in 2026 after having served there at an earlier time, as well as having held several similar positions in the region. Cathy is responsible for the parish’s song, overseeing the leading and development of the choirs, and in that light, is always encouraging professional and avocational singers and musicians to share their musical gifts with the congregation. She is also the director of the Schola Cantorum of Gettysburg, a choir dedicated to presenting choral music spanning from the Renaissance to the present. When not involved in musical activities, Cathy enjoys attending concerts, biking, gardening and spending time with her husband, Dale, and caring for the many rescue and foster cats in her care.

Parish Administrator
Marrie Sanders
Marrie moved to Pennsylvania with her spouse and daughter in 2006. She has an extensive background in office and personnel management. Marrie’s personal philosophy is that everyone deserves grace, kindness, and a smile. Strangers are just potential new friends – they only need to meet! Her goal is to ensure that every person she encounters is greeted with a smile, has their needs met as much as possible, and leaves the interaction feeling better than when they started. When she is not loudly cheering for the Steelers, Marrie spends her free time getting into shenanigans with her sister and friends, spending time with her family, and serving her community.
