We would love to see you!

We are located in the heart of downtown Gettysburg at the corner of Baltimore and High Streets (20 W. High Street). Look for the gray stone edifice, red doors, and bell tower!

In addition to our noon Eucharist on Wednesdays and our Sunday services at 8:00 and 10:15 am, the church office is open Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Parking

Enter the church parking lot using the alley off of W. High Street between the church and Peace House where the Gettysburg Community Soup Kitchen is located. The alley is narrow, allowing only one car to pass at a time, but mirrors installed at the intersection of the alley and High Street increase visibility. We have two handicap parking spots immediately to your left as you approach the back entrance of the church. Regular parking spaces are to your right. If the lot is full, street parking is free in Gettysburg on Sunday mornings.

Entering the Church

There are three entrances into the church. There is an entrance through the bell tower on Baltimore Street that is only open on Sunday mornings, but we recommend that you enter the building either from the High Street entrance (you'll see the "Episcopal Church Welcome Sign") or the entrance closest to the parking lot by the Memorial Garden. During the week, the garden entrance is the only one that is open and there is a door bell and intercom to gain access to the building.

What to Wear?

The simplest answer to this question is to wear whatever makes you comfortable. At Prince of Peace on Sunday mornings, you will find a range of clothing from the very casual (jeans and t-shirts or sweatshirts) to the traditional "Sunday best" (dresses for women and dress shirts - maybe even the occasional coat and tie - for men) and everything in between!

What about Children?

Children of all ages are always welcome to join us for worship! We also have a nursery room available with toys, a crib, a rocking chair, and a changing table, if needed. The large parlor area just outside our worship space is connected to the worship service through the sound system and our livestream TV if you have a toddler who needs room to roam during the service. Children are welcome to receive communion or a blessing at their parents' discretion. For school-aged children, we offer a Sunday School class at 9:00 AM during the school year.

What to expect?

Please see our Newcomers' Page for more details about our services. The most important thing you can expect to find at Prince of Peace is a warm and welcoming environment where any question is a good question!
